Lead Augmented Reality (AR) Engineer

ARS is looking for a Lead Augmented Reality (AR) Engineer who is passionate about creating next-generation immersive experiences that bring new forms of audience engagement to life in fun and unexpected ways, in original projects that bridge the gap between the digital and physical worlds in unique, story-driven ways.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ Years of creating and delivering professional game, simulation or similar application projects
  • Advanced knowledge of the Unity Game Engine and Editor
  • Extensive experience creating Unity-based applications for AR and/or VR platforms
  • Experience with Unity AR Foundation
  • Extensive experience debugging and optimizing Unity applications
  • Advanced C# skills with the ability to write performant code
  • Objective-C or Swift proficiency
  • Java or Kotlin proficiency
  • Ability to both think high-level and be detail oriented
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience working with a team of developers, artists and technical leads
  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of and help design the architecture for a greenfield gaming platform
  • Work with Unity’s AR Foundation to build cross-platform experiences
  • Work closely with the User Experience Design Team to design and implement new concepts and features
  • Work closely with the Platform Engineering team to design and integrate internal and external APIs
  • Produce code that is clear and concise, and consistent with best-in-class coding standards
  • Deliver in accordance with prescribed deadlines, on time and with high quality
  • Self-manage and work in an environment of high autonomy
  • Solve specific 3D spatial data challenges using 3D geometry mathematics and 3D tools such as raycasting
  • Ability to test and deploy code to both iOS and Android platforms
  • Participate in and lead code reviews
  • Work closely with the rest of the engineering team on a day to day basis
  • Document new features for both internal and external reference
  • Ability to progress into a position which oversees a small development and engineering team

  • Experience writing documentation

Senior Interaction Designer

ARS is looking for a Senior Interactive Designer who can create quickly, ideate and wireframe unique interactive experiences. Ideal candidate has experience with creating, testing and level balancing. The designer must be well-organized and have great attention to detail – along with an understanding of how story can be incorporated into puzzle and gameplay. The Senior Interactive Designer will interface with the VP of Interaction and Game Design on a daily basis to walk through and massage mechanics and experience flow.

Qualifications

  • Avid player of puzzles and games
  • Must have a firm understanding of many types of game mechanics and genres
  • 3-5+ years of level design experience
  • Experience ideating, rapid prototyping and developing innovative gameplay
  • Experience with designing of game interface and controls
  • Must be able to improve existing game mechanics
  • Able to work independently, with a team and meet timelines
  • Must be able to take direction
  • Have examples of unique games and puzzles to show, in a variety of formats

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for research & development of cutting edge gameplay and technologies
  • Work closely with the UX/Experience Design Team to design & optimize features
  • Self-manage and work in an environment of high autonomy
  • Support VP of Interaction as needed, but work on daily basis with all types of design, graphics, producers and engineering
